Visual Studio Links #80

by dstokes on October 22, 2008

My latest in a series of the weekly, or more often, summary of interesting links I come across related to Visual Studio.

Anthony Cangialosi announced that the Screencasts for the 2008 VSX Conference have been posted.  These are definitely worth the time if you are extending Visual Studio.

Orasis Software has released a beta of Orasis Mapping Studio 2009.  The tool is used to generate a persistence layer for your project using standard .Net code and integrates with Visual Studio.

New on Visual Studio Gallery:

Sara Ford’s Tip of the Day #338 explains how to specifiy which New Project Dialog Language sub-node to show a project template.

Greg Duncan posted a link to a Signature/Data Type Conversion P/Invoke Cheat Sheet.  Very handy to have.

Via Alvin Ashcraft:

The Visual Basic Team posted a link to a VS plugin that will compile your code in the background and display the output in a window.

Sara Ford’s Tip of the Day #339 shows how to specify the project icon for your template to appear in the New Project Dialog.

The Web Developer Tools Team posted a few new tips:

Sara Ford’s Tip of the Day #340 explains how to import your project template if you have chosen not to automatically import it.
