My latest in a series of the weekly, or more often, summary of interesting links I come across related to Visual Studio.
Visual Studio 2008 KB: Also applies to VS 2005. Workaround for ‘getaddrinfo’ could not be located in the dynamic link library WS2_32. This can occur for MFC applications running under Windows Server 2000 or earlier operating systems.
Anthony Cangialosi:
- VS 2005 Extensions for .NET Framework 3.0 is going to be removed from MS Downloads. The license for that is expiring and the functionality in VS2008 is far superior anyway.
- Retirement of the VSIPMembers.com Affiliate Level will occur on August 1. Now that the new site for obtaining PLKs and SLKs is live, there really isn’t a point to the Affiliate Level anyway.
The Windows SDK team is looking for feedback on whether they should be providing updates more frequently and to what areas of the SDK product.
Via Jason Haley: Sasha Goldshtein has written a detail article on The ABC of Blue-Screen Dump Analysis.
Sara Ford’s Tip of the Day #248 show how to keep Visual Studio settings on different machines in sync.
